North Sydney Boys is an environment where every boy feels safe, nurtured and supported. We achieve this through our school community, culture and student wellbeing program working in partnership with parents and carers.
From the beginning of Year 7, students are linked with Year 10 students who are trained peer support leaders to ease transition to high school. In addition boys are supported by a team of teachers dedicated to student support as well as a team of trained peer mediators.
Each student has a Year Adviser and Assistant Year Adviser who supports him through his years at North Sydney Boys, building a strong and open relationship. All students have access to counselling services and the learning and support teacher. This professional support is integral to our student wellbeing program.
Over the six years of a boy's secondary education, a partnership exists between school and family. This partnership is based on shared responsibility and mutual respect. Together we aim to realise the potential and aspirations of each boy.
We celebrate each boy's achievements and successes and provide support and discipline when required. From time to time, students may need individualised support. We encourage students to address any concerns at an early stage, however if concerns continue, our three dedicated support teams (welfare, learning support and behaviour management) work with students and families to achieve a positive outcome.
We are proudly a happy, safe and caring school and have no tolerance for anti social behaviour such as bullying, alcohol or illegal drugs.
Our boys have the confidence to be themselves, in a school where they know they belong.
