FINAL STEP: Results and shortlisting

The school’s selection panel will convene to evaluate the test results. A shortlist will be created; only shortlisted students will be asked to complete an application form with further details. Interviews may be held to determine the outcome and a Reserve List for each year will be determined.

Students will be advised in writing if they were unsuccessful or if they have been placed on the Reserve List. Students on the Reserve List will be contacted during Term 4 if a place becomes available.

Further information on the general enrolment process can be obtained from the High Performing Students Unit.

Additional Information for Year 11 Applicants

Each year we take up to an additional 15 students who meet the entry criteria into Year 11. Students applying for entry to Year 11 are advised that the school has a policy that students may study a maximum of two (2) science courses in the senior years. This policy is not negotiable.

Entry to North Sydney Boys High School is primarily determined by the results obtained in the Edutest entrance exams.

Students shortlisted for entry may be invited to sit additional short tests to determine suitability for the in-demand science, mathematics and extension courses. These tests are the same tests that our existing Year 10 cohort sit to determine their suitability for courses in these KLAs.

Shortlisted applicants will be notified and given further details.

Enrolments In Support Unit

North Sydney Boys High School has a Support Unit for students with disabilities (Autism). Please refer to the Student Support Program web site for details on enrolments and general information about how support units operate: https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/disability-learning-and-support

For enrolment questions please contact the Local Educational Services team on 131 536.  For general enquiries about disability, learning and support please contact

Support students do participate in whole-school events such as carnivals, co-curricular projects, extra-curricular activities, integrated sport and camps.

Please note the school does not hold separate Open Days for Support students. Once you are offered a position you will be invited to attend an Orientation Program.
